A rich and other worldly book, a compelling work woven with gold threads of resistance and resilience, connection and human nature.

The seven deadly sins are alive and kicking hard in contemporary Scotland.

Swooping from the mundane to the immense, Stirling’s long-form poetry weaves narratives of human experience. A loose alliance of extraordinary and unextraordinary characters struggle to comprehend their identities in a world bladed with criticism and obsessed with self-betterment. This story sees ancient roots clasp hands with modern compassion to explore human frailty, love and resilience.

Mirror and rallying cry both, Love The Sinner reflects on the meaning of being human today.

Imogen Stirling writes beautiful, wry but bell-clear truths. Each of her sins is a perfect creation, utterly recognisable but never a stereotype.

#HYPOCRISY

#Hypocrisy was published by Speculative Books in 2019. As a live show, it premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe before touring the UK.

Lost in the bliss of foreign travel, Imogen joyfully succumbs to the spoils of Western privilege. Returning to Scotland, a harsh society confronts her. Dangerous politicians prevail, the media sells fictions masquerading as reality, an ocean of social media sympathy pours forth for Western terror victims, yet backs turn on the migrant crisis. What staggering hypocrisy.

Life-affirming artistry, restores the faith of even the most downtrodden socialist in the audience.
— Everything Theatre ★★★★★

A seamless blend of sharp spoken word poetry, dark comedy and original music, #Hypocrisy reminds us that in complacency lies the most heart-stopping terror.

Be disconcerted, be cautioned. This blistering performance will leave you questioning: why me and not them?

Stirling is gripping in her own right, moving around the stage with ease while never missing a beat. Her words are sharp, smart and most importantly kind.
